Jacquie Blackburn was the 2006 recipient of the Canadian Parrot Conference Aviculturist Service Award. This award goes to an individual, group or organization who has gone above and beyond in the world of birds. Jacquie devoted many years of to the Canadian Parrot Symposium (east) events as director and organizer. Her dedication helped educate brought in a wide variety of amazing guest speakers for 13 years benefiting everyone in aviculture from breeders to pet bird owners.	and in her Paris Hilton pose... Anna was presented with the DAS Patron Award in December, 2007. She was our first recipient, and was given this award for her generosity to and support of DAS. Anna has donated to many of the DAS fund raisers, and although she is not a DAS member, she has leant a helping hand at meetings and fund raisers. DAS wanted to say a special thank you to Anna, and created the Patron Award to do this. Thank you, Anna!
Jock was made an Honorary Member many years ago, in recognition of his part in the history of DAS. As one of our founding members, we all owe him a debt of gratitude. Jock was there on November 8, 1977 when DAS was born, and has been a proud and active member ever since. Thank you, Jock!	John was presented with a Life Membership at our April, 2008 meeting. John has been a member of DAS almost since the beginning. He has judged many of our annual shows, and been the show manager for as many more. John has held a number of positions on the executive committee over the years, and is always the one we call on when there's a fund raiser auction coming up. This year we surprised him with our first Life Membership award as a small thank you for all he has done for DAS. Thank you, John!
